An Inadequate Rhyme

The winds of time blow leaves of flame
I struggle with the words to tame.
What words ever describe you, Lord?
What songs could ever fill the chord?

Beyond our discerning are You,
The One and only life, so True.
Beyond our reach and far out more.
With tales of grandeur and much lore.

Your exploits created the worlds
From nothing more than empty swirls!
You but spoke words - all life began!
With you, not If, but always Can.

So how do our empty poet's words
Describe the You that we've all heard?
Our best is but a feeble rhyme.
To declare the One without time.
