When he got home Bertie's father laughed and got
the hose. "Now stand still," he said, "This will be cold and
unpleasant, but it's the quickest way to get you and your bike clean!"
Bertie stood on the lawn while his father squirted water all over him,
and soon all the mud was washed off.
