Muscles need all five things.
FUEL
Arteries bring fuel to the cells, while veins take the waste products
away. Muscles also generate heat, which is also taken away by the blood.
EXHAUST Whatever
is surplus to the muscle is taken away by the blood. Heat is usually
lost through the skin, while other waste goes to the filtering organs
of the body. Carbon dioxide is lost through the lungs.
COOLING SYSTEM The blood heats, and/or cools the body, depending on the need.
MOUNTING Muscles are anchored to solid bone by cords, called tendons, sinews or ligaments.
CONTROL Muscles
are started, stopped and regulated by a varying power output, which is
operated through nerves. Some muscles are controlled automatically,
such as the heart, while other muscles need our conscious will to
activate. The seat of most control is the brain.
od has designed our bodies with not just six hundred
muscles, but millions of microscopic muscle cells. Each
cell is an individual, yet it works in harmony with all the millions of
other cells in each bundle of cells - each muscle.
