More cheering and booing.

"Now the good news. The Heroes team has collected a very small number of things, but they, at least, did what they were told."

"We didn't hear you."

"Oh, well you did a good job anyway. Now, taking into account the lower age of this team, and the fact that they did what they were told, we're awarding them 35 points. Well done!"

"It’s not fair!"

"What's not fair?"

"How come they get more points when they didn't collect as much as us?"

"When you say it’s not fair, you mean 'it doesn't suit me'."

"Yeah," said Donald, "Don't be sore losers!"

"We're not!"

"So," said Miss Trollop, "The scores now stand at Streakers 100, Zombies 96 and Heroes 105."

Every kid was shouting. Some protested, some crowed. Tamzina ran round hugging her team and squealing. Roland kicked Donald in the shins and punched Jeff because he thought Jeff had elbowed him first. Jeff got Thomas in a head-lock because he thought it had been him who called him a pig's snout.

Miss Trollop blew the whistle twice and waited.

"The judges decisions are final," she said.

"But we collected more than them!" said Donald.

"I know," said Miss Trollop, "But I told you only natives would be counted."

"What about points for something else then?"

"What do you suggest?"

"I don't know. Good behavior?"

All the kids ignored that idea as soon as they heard it.

"Keeping together?"

"Only the heroes kept together. Do you want me to give them more points?"
