The great thing about telephones is the way the wires go all the way from my house to every other house in the city. I'm connected to everywhere!

I got the telephone book out and looked for the name of one of my class mates. I dialed and waited. Someone answered, so I opened the match box and held it near the phone.

"Stand back please."

A bit of twinkle dust and whoosh! The match box was empty. I heard someone shouting with surprise at the other end.

It worked!

After that it was easy. I dialed every home. All twenty three of them. It was the luckiest day of my life. Someone was home every time.

But the Principal was more difficult. He was very stinky.

"Would you like a wash first?"

"You keep your hands off me!" he shouted. Squeak squeak squeak.

So I sent him back to the school, poo and all.

That was yesterday.

Today I'm at home, writing this in my diary.

I had a great day at school today. Everyone was nice to me. Even the Principal. He was all smiles. He came up to me and patted me on the head. "Can I get you anything? Are you feeling well?" I told him I was fine, and could he get me a glass of fruit juice? Orange thank you, with ice.

My classmates treated me with respect too. If I see any of them smirking at me, I stand by the wall and pull the bag of twinkle dust out. There's a plug-socket there and I think they understand.

You never know where you'll end up if you go down a plug-socket!
