Mrs. Owl flew to where the snake was and killed and ate it.
“Yum!” she said, “That was delicious!”
Then she turned to Polly and Peter and said, “Just because that snake looked beautiful you thought it was a friend, but it was a deadly enemy. You ought to be more careful about who you invite into your home.”
