Tamehana returned to Otaki to share the good news with the rest of the Pa. He sent Te Whiwhi to Paihia to bring back a missionary to live with them at Otaki, to help them start a school and church so they could learn more about Jesus. Even the proud warrior Te Rauparaha became a Christian and built Rangiatea the famous Maori church at Otaki.
