Proverbs 13:24 "Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them." It is easier to let kids do whatever they want, than to discipline them. Discipline takes effort and thought. It only works if the parent is consistent, which means more work. Parents who fail to discipline their children show they are not really that interested. As well, children who are not trained, have greater failures in their adult life. How can a parent say they love the child, but not be careful for the child's future?
