Free will

Isn't it WONDERFUL being able to make up your own mind about things?! You can decide so many things, so many times, about so many things, every day!

This is how God has designed humans, but humans are also sinners, so they tend to want to control other people's choices. The bossier people are, the less choice other people have.

Let's look briefly at what people have done with their freedom of choice:

Government - democracy, dictatorship, communism, theocracy, etc.
Metals - tools, buildings, weapons, etc
Lands - abundance, deserts, pollution, erosion, etc
Brains - good books, wise ideas, pornography, rubbish, etc
Food - the best, the worst, drugs, etc.
God - the truth, religions, cults, heresies, etc.

As you can see, it doesn't matter what we look at, humans have either made something really good out of their choices, or something really useless.

So you have the choice today to make something good of your life, minute by minute, or you can choose to waste it. It's your choice.
