Being sure

There's a funny proverb which goes "A man with 1 watch know the time, but a man with 2 watches is never sure."

You meet people with two watches all the time. They believe in the Bible? Sure do. They also believe the world! One eye on what God says, and one eye on worldly wisdom. Double-minded people they are, with one foot in each camp, and always ready to compromise.

They say they believe Genesis, but they also believe in millions of years and the Big Bang theory. They say they believe God created life, but they say God used evolution. They say God's Word is the truth but then they quote from worldly experts. They say they are Christians, then they bend over backwards to fit in with their non Christians friends.

Its better to be a one watch person than a two watch person, because one watch is all you need to tell the time. A second watch will aways be a little different.

The Bible says: "Elijah came to all the people, and said, How long are you going to hesitate between two opinions? If the LORD be God, follow him; but if Baal, the follow him". 1 Kings 18:21
