Preview of Handout:![]() Wording of this Handout:How to view thingsThere is a story, true perhaps, which comes from the 1930's. This was when money lost just about all its value - it was called the Great Depression. Anyway, a Christian man, living at that time lost a fortune and went to pieces. He left his wife and home and started wandering the streets. He was so gloomy he didn't eat or wash, and soon he was a bag of bones covered in dirty rags. Eventually he fell ill and went to hospital. His friends came round to try and cheer him up, but nothing worked. He lay in the bed and waited to die . . . and then the doctor told him he had 2 weeks to live. Immediately the man cheered up. He wrote his will, and sent letters to friends, sorted out all his affairs and waited to die. But the doctor had tricked him, and he lived. See what a difference an attitude makes! The Bible says: "Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me: yet your commandments are my delights" Psalm 119:143 |
