Car with no motor

One of the best illustrations of evolution I have ever come across is the story about the man who walked up to the top of a hill and bought a car. The salesman told the man that the car was in perfect order - and it looked it. Shiny finish, new chrome, nice tires, soft upholstery.. . a real beauty!

The salesman took the man’s money, and then told the man to get into the car while he pushed it out the car yard gate. The man was a little curious about this but he steered the car, and then started rolling down the hill.

For a while everything went well. The horn worked, the windscreen wipers worked, the steering worked . but eventually the car rolled to a stop. The man looked under the bonnet and found. . . no motor!!

Evolution is exactly like this car. On the outside it may seem to be a reasonably good theory, but there is absolutely nothing useful inside it to make it work! In fact, some scientists have become so desperate for evidence they have actually made their own.

Would you buy a car called evolution if you knew it had no motor?
