Before it ever happened

Hundreds and even thousands of years before it happen to Jesus, God foretold the Saviour's place of birth, the exact time of his birth, and his family tree. He foretold that someone close to Jesus would betray him, and he described how Jesus would die - by crucifixion - and this was long before anyone had even invented this method of putting people to death! God also predicted the nasty things people would do to Jesus, and that his body would be pierced, and then the sort of burial Jesus would have.

Some people say "Well, I'm sure you could find one or two of these predictions fulfilled in someone else. For example, there were lots of people who were crucified and some of them were buried the same way Jesus was buried?"

True, but nobody in the world - except Jesus - fits every prediction in every detail. That's what makes Jesus so different from any and all other men. Peter Stoner, in his book 'Science Speaks' has worked out the probability of someone fitting just 8 of the 60 major predictions about Jesus. The odds are 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000. To give you and idea of how impossible it would be for anyone to beat these odds, imagine you have covered the whole of Texas in 50c pieces. No mark one coin and hide it, then tell someone to go blindfolded and find that coin first try.

Another criticism is that the prophets just made up their predictions. But hey, wait a minute - how come they were right every time!? That's so amazing it must be a miracle!
