Preview of Handout:![]() Wording of this Handout:Every detail is importantEvery word in the Bible is important, even though it may not seem so. A good example of this is found in the following two verses: “And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing” Luke 15:5 and the verse at the bottom of this page. In the second verse we are told that Jesus is born, and then His rank is given. Jesus is Wonderful, Counselor, God, Father and Prince, yet the word ‘shoulder” comes into too. Look what Jesus carries on His shoulder: the government. This means that, as the King of Kings, Jesus carries all the responsibility for the whole earth on Himself. But in the first of these two verses, Jesus carries a lost sheep, and you may have noticed that there is an “s included. Shoulders. In other words, it seems that God is telling us something about the value of a human being. God carries the whole government on one shoulder, but He lends both shoulders to a wandering sheep. The Bible says: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” Isaiah 9:6 (King James Version) |
