Big brother is watching you!

Some predictions by people, of the future, are quite grim. They see the future as full of pollution and congestion, with problems becoming too big for the nations to solve . . . and some predictions are bright and happy, with Science saving the world.

One prediction has "Big Brother" watching everyone through little hidden cameras everywhere, and all the people in the world having to wear bar codes, or electronic identification gadgets. Why should everyone need to be watched? So they won't be able to 1. Commit crimes undetected. and 2. So they can be taxed. controlled and despatched when their usefulness is over.

Compare this kind of watching with God's kind of watching. God watches us with eyes full of love - not criticism. He watches us because He cares about everything we do and say and even think! He is a bit like parents watching over their dear children - and even when the children are naughty, the parents see it all through eyes of love.

In the "Big Brother" story, the watching is disrespectful, nosy, prying and invasive. With God it is considerate. Even though God sees all and hears all, He never comes barging into our lives. God is absolutely the gentleman, sensitive to our feelings and thoughtful - yet at the same time He is God, so one day we will see Him, and He will work out our rewards according to all He has seen.
