WHAT’S STOPPING YOU?
by Stan Arney © 2007

Do you have a feeling that God is calling you
He wants you to do something, but not given you a clue
Or maybe you know what He wants, but are simply afraid
Because it’s your comfort zone, He wants to invade

A task that will force you to go beyond your limit
But that is our God’s way, you must reluctantly admit
You ponder the possibilities of what may transpire
Prayer and meditation on His word, this will require

Very few people hear God’s request and instantly perform
My goal is to tell you what to expect, simply to inform
Through experiences, God prepares you for each task ahead
Like with Jesus’ disciples, a sip of wine and piece of bread

What God calls on you to do now, is simply to trust
That you believe His Word and in His Son, are a must
The challenge put before you may seem quite overwhelming
Remember that God is in control of everything

I’ll remind you that God does not take “no” for an answer
People like Moses would wholeheartedly concur
Whatever it is He wants you to do, He is always near
To guide you each step of the way, to help you persevere

Now with confidence accept the good work you are given
Once it is completed, you can look back on where you’ve been
The only one you wish to please is our Lord God Almighty
Make it known that it was by His hand giving Him full glory

When you have a feeling that God is calling you
He wants you to do something, that something you must do
He will push you outside your comfort zone and it’s about time
That you understand the reason for my God inspired rhyme.
