WHAT KIND OF CHRISTIAN ARE YOU?
by Stan Arney © 2007

A believer and follower of Christ Jesus
Who was crucified but rose from the grave victorious
You believe that Jesus died for all the sins of Mankind
That Jesus was the Son of God, you will always remind

Since you too are a sinner, you can relate to us all
Accepting Christ as your personal Savior, a smart call
When you do follow Jesus in baptism by water
A public display of your acceptance, all will concur

The Holy Spirit now dwells within your own heart
Asking God for forgiveness of your sins, is a good start
You are a chosen disciple, picked by Jesus firsthand
To spread His Word, His message, throughout all the land

Which means you accept a great responsibility
To lead by example, for the entire world to see
To show Jesus’ love and compassion for us all
This does not mean that from sin you will not fall

You are to love all sinners, but to hate their sin
This will take plenty of patience, and lots of discipline
Help others without expecting anything in return
That you perform God’s good works, your newfound concern

Teach others about Jesus, and how He has changed your life
To accept Christ as your Savior, you begin a new life
You live to serve God, so His requests must come first
As you learn from His Word, you will become well versed

Pray to the Lord, give thanks for each and every blessing
Remember that without God, you can do nothing
For there is but one and only God, and His Word is true
Since you accepted His gift that means you believe it too.
