MY OWN EYES HAVE SEEN YOUR SALVATION

For my own eyes have seen your salvation
It is not for the few, but for everyone
He will change the world, from this day forward
As the Scriptures foretold, it has finally occurred

We each were once blind, but by your Word we can see
Our God loves us so much, that He gave a decree
Man shall not suffer in eternal damnation
So it had been written, so it had to be done

Mary and Joseph were not alone in their knowledge
They knew that what would occur was a great privilege
God had entrusted them, with His one and only Son
The altering of our way of thinking had thus begun

No longer would blood sacrifices have to be made
The price for all of our sins, would all to soon be paid
The wise men and shepherds knew to keep King Herod away
This child would rule a never-ending kingdom some day

Mary and Joseph took on the task of raising God’s Son
They taught Him to live by the laws and what must be done
Jesus knew His true Father’s heart and how things should be
His life, on Earth, was teaching the spiritually “blind” to see

Though most, at the time, did not fully realize His worth
Around the world, to this day, we still celebrate His birth
Jesus is still the greatest gift ever given
When He knocks at your heart’s door, will you let Him in?
