GIVE, GIVE AND GIVE
by Stan Arney © 2007

Let’s discuss the reality in which we all live
Most of us believe it’s up to others to give, give and give
Give me what I need, what I desire and what I want
That is just the way it is, I’m sorry to be so blunt

Let’s just face it, Man can be quite selfish it’s true
Don’t turn away because this probably includes you
We look at our world as, what is in it for me
Yes, I thought you might reluctantly agree

Treasures you receive here on Earth are not your only reward
I would rather have the treasures, where in Heaven they are stored
When most of us pray, it is because we want something from God
Can you see that our thought process seems to be flawed

We tend to believe that God exists simply to please us
How this could not be further from the truth we shall discuss
You were given life, to give God the glory He is due
Don’t forget you need Him, much more than He needs you

God gives you direction along the path He has chosen
We live to do His bidding, and this includes everyone
Ask not what He can do for you, but what you can do for God
Your new way of thinking, He will openly applaud

Now that you realize what your goal in life should be
Make a change in your actions for the entire world to see
Seek to help others, choose to give instead of receive
God has good works, which He entrusts you to achieve

Now you live to serve God, forsaking your old self
Store this in your mind, as your own personal wealth
To the new reality in which you will live
It’s now your life to God, you will give, give and give.
