When Heaven I Shall See
by Norman Wagoner © 1998

Sweet aromas fill the air,
No more pain or earthly care,
No more cane or rocking chair,
WHEN HEAVEN I SHALL SEE

The brightest Light the world has known,
The Son of God, His Glory shown,
Hand-in-hand, with me alone,
WHEN HEAVEN I SHALL SEE

All my friends and family,
That I have so long, longed to see,
Will all be there awaiting me,
WHEN HEAVEN I SHALL SEE

My mansion stands out bright and bold,
Of solid diamond, pearl and gold.
A quiet pond and fishing pole,
IN HEAVEN I SHALL SEE

Sweet Hosannas fill the air.
I'll sing out loud without a care,
For my voice will be perfect there,
WHEN HEAVEN I SHALL SEE

I'll thank my Savior face-to-face,
For saving me in my disgrace.
Eternal life shall be my place,
WHEN HEAVEN I SHALL SEE

There'll be no friends to let me down.
No broken hearts or looking down.
I'll feel God's presence all around,
WHEN HEAVEN I SHALL SEE

For now I must be in this world,
And satan's arrows at me hurl.
My Christian armor I unfurl,
FOR HEAVEN I SHALL SEE

Some day I'll leave my armor here,
And hear a great angelic cheer,
As to my Father I draw near,
AS HEAVEN I SHALL SEE

My heart will cry with every beat
"Praise You Father! Oh how sweet.
To spend forever at Your feet!"
WHEN HEAVEN I SHALL SEE
