The Lords Tears
by Johnny Fredell

Do you think the Lord cries, do you think the Lord sees
The things man is doing to his mountains and streams
We've got acids in rain, we've put oils in his seas
We've made meadows of asphalt and so few fields are left green
His skies aren't so blue now, our smoke turns tree trunks dull gray
And God help us we've killed another species today
Do you think the Lord cries, it would seem so to me
I think the Lords tears put the salt in the seas

Do you think the Lord cries, do you think the Lord sees
The things mankind's doing to his brothers these days
Pushers sell poisons as dreams, with no compassion at all
Some sell sweet lies as escape when your back's to the wall
People kill men, women and children, or just abuse without care
Con-men prey on your hopes for a better life somewhere
Do you think the Lord cries, open your eyes friend you'll see
Do you think the Lord smiles at all these things that he sees

Do you think the Lord cries, do you think the Lord sees
The wars men are fighting, some in his name of all things
People why do we hate and why oh why do we kill
It feels much better to love, why can't we let old wounds heal
People why do we do all these things that we do
And why must we try to turn Gods many treasures to few
So do you think the Lord cries, he has a heart just like you
Do you see all these things, have you shed a tear too
