Worldly Shackels
by Faith DiPasquale

Oh how blessed it is to find,
A Savior so divine!
Leading up a path of sorrows,
So we just need see the sign.

Earth-bound He came from heaven,
Making a way that we might fly,
When in fact the sin-trap opened,
We instead might take his escape as it comes by.

Oh how I wish that I might take it,
Wholy, dropping all else beside,
But I always seem to be grasping,
Things that I can never hold abide.

A still small self still cries for mercy,
I want to be wholly thine,
But worldly pleasures seem to say mine
The spiritual battle that rages inside.

Come and help me, save me somehow,
I don't want to live for anyone else but thee,
Take these worldly shackles from me,
Make me thine, make me thine.
