I Want To Be Close To You

Dear Lord I know I've made mistakes
I've been a problem child
I've let you down so many times
I've let my mind run wild
I didn't mean to walk away
I know I did you wrong,
If you could just forgive me
I want to come back where I belong
I pray to you on bended knees
But is this really what I mean?
Are these just words from my mouth,
Are they everything they seem?
Sometimes I feel so confused,
My mind won't comprehend
I want to feel it in my heart
I just don't understand.
I'll love you and I'll praise you
Until my dying day
But even then I don't know what I'm supposed to say
Sometimes the words they fail me
My heart begins to burn inside
I feel your love as it churns in me
Should I stay or run and hide
But your love over whelms me
I know what I must do
Just say these simple words
"Dear Lord I LOVE YOU!"
