Quiet With You
by Lauren Lindsay Calderwood © 2007

The world demands so much of me
There's always stuff to do
Some days I find it hard to get away
And spend my time with You
It seems there's always background noise
The grinding of each day
And I need to take the time
To make it fade away

And just be quiet with You
A peace and security
Quiet with You
No distractions, just me and my Lord
I feel the stress melting away
I feel You ease the tensions and the pain
Sometimes all I need to do
Is just be quiet with You

The glaring lights of a manmade sun
Don't compare with the twinkle of the stars in the sky
So I slip on my sandals
And I step outside
Here beneath Your heavens
All is peaceful and still
I listen for the sound of Your voice
And I pray to do Your will

And I'm just quiet with You
Your presence is all I need
Quiet with You
No distractions, just me and my Lord
I know You understand me
And I'm learning of You too
It's a precious rendezvous
Just being quiet with You

Absorbed completely
In the wonder of Your might
I'm safe and peaceful
In the silence of the night

Quiet with You
Quiet with me
Coming before You
Your presence is all I need
No distractions
No complications
Nothing else I'd rather do
Just being quiet with You
