His spirit is a comfort when all my times seem bleak
His spirit is a strength for me when I get to feeling weak
His spirit says "yes I know just what you're facing and what your going through"
and then He whispers oh so sweetly "but child I'm still with you!!"
His spirit is a guiding light right in the midst of dark
His spirit burns inside of me and leaves a holy mark
His spirit is uplifter
because life can get you down
when He comes in He picks you up and helps you stand your ground
His spirit is defender
to all who will receive
stay with me, holy spirit of God, don't let my heart deceive
His spirit is the breath of life that put me on this earth
now let me stop for just one moment to recognize His worth
His spirit is a life boat when I'm being tossed at sea
and when I'm lost with no direction His spirit carries me
