My Brother by Kathleen Higham My heart is filled with memories Traveling down this painful road I held him on my lap once more It was such a heavy load All my life I loved him Never could I forsee Traveling down this painful road He would choose to leave me I have cried so many tears And in me deep regret Long ago snuggled on my lap I remember the moment we met He was such a character I laughed until I cried Now he sits on my lap And I can't believe he died My brother was so gifted And this is just not fair Wishing I had another chance He thought I didn't care So we take this final journey And I hold him to my heart I put him with his brother But we'll ever be apart My heart is filled with memories Of a boy that I once knew A little box sitting on my lap But my Lord has come for you |
