We have good reason to sing and shout
The Lord is coming and there is no doubt.
Come to the chapel and hear what it's about
Bring all your friends along but leave the devil out.

Don't let the preacher hear you say that you were bored
Or that your dearest neighbor through the sermon snored
Just you be thankful that you heard the preacher's words
Those were the words of the Lord.

Sing your favorite hymn with a hearty voice
Sing just as hearty when it's not your choice
Read from the Bible with a humble voice
Then let your feelings go - be happy and rejoice.

Sing, sing your praise to Him sing all with one accord
Sing with all the love you have and you can come aboard
Just do the best you can then hear the preacher's words
Those are the words of the Lord.

If you are a businessman then bring your money too
But if you're down and out a happy smile will do
The Lord appreciates a dollar bill or more
But He is generous... He gives it to the poor.

Come all you people come and hear the preacher man
Come with your bicycle or with your vintage van
Come in your Sunday best or in your oldest cord
Learn to love the words of the Lord.
