You Take Me
by Kathleen Higham

I take God to bad places
And He's with me when I sin
Locked inside my hateful heart
In a place He's already been

Thinking of the journey He made
How could I take Him there
My sin was nailed to the cross
As His life was laid bare

Yet, I take God to bad places
Because when I ask Him in
He promised never to leave me
Especially when I struggle with sin

And when I take Him with me
I feel His sorrow in my heart
I don't want to allow this
But my sin takes me apart

I ask Him every morning
Take my passion and my pride
Wanting to surrender completely
Lord in me, I pray, abide

I take God to bad places
And I hurt, because He knows
Knows who I really am
And still, with me He goes

Oh Lord I cry, forgive me
For where I've taken You
But, once again You take me
How I cherish what You do

Psalm 38:17-18
