Let Me Be
by Gertrude Jefferies

Let me be clay in the hands of the Potter,
Let Him fashion and form His design.
Let me be yielded to Him so completely,
Till His image only you will find.

Let my plans, my future be His to control,
Abandon, re-arrange as He will.
Let me not be afraid of what others say,
His delight, my heart's desire to fulfill.

Though I do not know what my future may hold,
Though I do not know His plans for me.
Let me trust Him, obey Him and walk with Him,
Until one day His face I shall see.

And if I completely surrender to Him
If in my life is mirrored God's Son.
If my doing, and being and saying please Him,
Then one day I'll hear, " My child, well done."
