Too Much

Is it too much to give ourselves
To The One who loves us so
He gave His only Son for us
So we could overthrow
The pain and doubt and bitterness
Of living in this world
He wants to give us so much more
Than what has been unfurled.

Surrendering our lives to Him
Means moving off our shelf
And leaping out into the place
Where Him replaces self
To be transformed into the ones
That we are meant to be
Pretty scary stuff, eh what?
Are you afraid, like me?

The choice is ours, are we content
To tread the endless waves
Of apathy and lukewarm lives
We constantly behave
As if we have it all to do
It's tiring just to think
Why don't we give it all to Him
Before we finally sink.
