Damsel In Distress
by Danette Kettwich © 2007

I look down from this tower; as far as the eye can see;
The wonder of God's beauty, magnificent it can be.

I watch the fragrant flowers, and the animated bees;
I watch the birds alighting, to the ground from lofty trees.

I offer my devotion, to the Lord my awesome God;
Even though I am trapped here, unable to feel the sod.

I view the morning sunrise, In the eve I watch it set,
I have not caught a glimpse of, shining armor as of yet.

Trapped in this dreary prison, the walls are vacant and cold;
Will I still be here waiting, even when I am grey and old?

I will endure knowing that, he will find me very soon;
My prince will come to take me, to his pristine bridal room.

I'll try to find the beauty, in these cold and stony walls
And offer my devotion, 'til he climbs this tower tall.

God placed me in this castle, I will watch and I will wait
He will come swiftly riding, bravely through that pearly gate.

He will come to my rescue, to this damsel in distress;
And when I'm in His mansion, I will wear the whitest dress.

For now I will wait and watch, the horizon over there;
For my Prince to come riding, a white stallion in the air!
