I know it well to tell you

I know it well to tell you, how God, throughout my life
has every day watched over me and guarded me from strife.
Though sorrow, fear, and burden rage throughout the land
I find myself protected by God's almighty hand.

And I can also tell you, that God, who knows what's best
will lead us through the holocaust unto our place of rest.
Though fear and pain and suffering must come to us some day
I know that God, our Saviour, will ease the pain away.
