GIVE YOUR HEART AND LIFE TO GOD

What does it mean, to give your heart and life to God
The answer to this question, for many, is quite broad
Let us look at it from the Bible's point of view
Maybe I can make it a little more clear for you

When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior
It means when He knocked, we opened our heart's door
We agreed to give Him our life and control over it
Did you even realize this was a prerequisite

It means we follow His path, the path He preset
That does not only run from sunrise to sunset
He molds us through our triumphs and tragedies
He never promised a clear path of great ease

We are to be His light to a world full of darkness
To walk best as we can, in our Lord's likeness
Cast sin from our body, from our very thought process
To ask for His forgiveness, the sin you must confess

Lead by example, ask what Jesus would do
To forgive seventy times seven, is included too
Love everyone, yes sinners one and all
Just as Jesus forgave Saul, who then became Paul

Serving the Lord will take you out of your comfort zone
Yet cloaked in God's love, you will never be alone
When you set your mortal life aside, and follow the Lord
Nothing on this Earth compares to Heaven's reward.
