Seasons Change

I've withstood the bitter cold winter
Shivery, emotionless days of late December

When lively things appear torpid
Frozen, inactive, lying dormant

Seed germinating from the ground
Expectation of a new season is why I'm still around

At the time appointed, I shall bud and bloom
Gifts and talents before kings will make room

I rejoice in winter with hopes of spring
When spirits are revived and restored are dead things
