At My Kitchen Sink by Danette Kettwich © 2007 I love to wash my dishes, Many think I'm strange; Out of my kitchen window, I have seen many seasons change. I have watched the springtime flowers, And my children bloom. I have seen many rainy days, And all phases of the moon. I have seen my husband working, And witnessed my garden grow; I have observed my precious children, Play in fresh new fallen snow. In the quiet of my kitchen, I have pondered many things; I have given thanks to God, For the blessings that He brings. I have wallowed in my pity, I have even cried some tears; From my kitchen sink I give to God, My hopes, my dreams, my fears. You may conceive me as peculiar, It doesn't matter what you think; My time to be with my God, Is when I'm at my kitchen sink. |
