Poems Are the Art Within our Hearts

When inner realms are touched by beauty's soft and treasured graces
And light begins to shine upon the choice our heart embraces,
The voice of our rejoicing seeks the words that tell our parts
And we discover that our poems are the art within our hearts.

The joys that summon hope for dreams now echo in distant places
Where the trials of our heart's desires had purged the selfish traces.
And our waiting on the gift that faith, with love and grace, imparts
Reveals that God has made our poems to be the art within our hearts.

Now joyous dreams begin to visit with visions that displace
The faded hopes that blinded eyes to the Glory in His face.
And the inner tones of grateful music, blending love in many parts,
Unseals our joyous praise with words of poetry in our hearts.

So we've found the words that God's compassion sends to heal our race,
As He's shared our trials and sorrows in revealing sufficient grace,
And the songs of our deliverance reveal the strength that He imparts
To the children of His love, that hear the poems of the heart.
