Longing for Quiet Times

As a mother of three boys
I often long for time;
Just for a few quite moments to
Truly claim as mine.

Busy doing laundry,
Busy making lunch;
Don't get me wrong I would
Do anything for this bunch!

But just a few more quiet moments,
To sit and just meditate.
To put life into perspective;
Before the hour's late.

When I do finally get
These few quite times
I find I often spend them
With the Lord of mine.

Then I realize that time isn't
Something that I own
For I have given my life to God
I've laid it at His throne.

Trust me there will be a time
Of quiet and of rest.
For now I will enjoy my duty and
Realize that my life is blest.

That time will come at the end
Of this life of mine
Wrapped in the arms of Jesus
For eternity's endless time.
