Aimless Souls
by Travis Dempster

Aimless souls, boundless, soundless
As they skirt along the edge of life, without meaning
What point is there to the steps we take in shades of Grey
as our vision blurs
and it all seems the same
So we say what's the difference,
but there is and always will be,
Black and White,
that is set apart and made separate
From the light, the night, the day,
and some may say
They are both beautiful
to the eye of the lonely traveler,
The wishful wanderer,
wishing on the stars above
that he might one day
See the day, that brings love back into his hollow life
and Fills his empty tears,
with memories worth living for,
once more Knocking on that door, searching with the chore
of asking the Question
that means all the world to us,
and hear the answer whispered in a hush. As we stop to ponder
between the rush from here to there
and try to capture the meaning
so we can treasure it in our heart
and take it with us, and set it apart.
To soar with the eagles on wings of gold, floating on unfathomable hope yet untold and finding the warmth through the cold as winter gives way to spring
and are souls start to sing once again
to our King
who has been waiting from the beginning to bring us home from whence we came
and calls us by his holy name
that his whole family did receive
because we were chosen to Believe,
and every knee now must bow,
every tongue confessed
that Jesus is Lord,
and his Saints are blessed
