I Lit a Candle For You Today by jennifer martinez © 2008 I lit a candle for you today, So, I kneeled down and began to pray. I prayed for your time in Iraq, And to be in one piece when you come back. Christ our Savior was a soldier too, He fought for humanity just like you. May God be with you while you're gone And your angel beside you from dusk until dawn. If you're ever scared even for a little bit, Just think of the candle that i lit. I'll light more for you and some for the others, Those whom have passed, your fellow brothers.
