GOD BLESS YOU

Why do we say, "bless you" only after a sneeze
I, for one, would like an abundance of blessings please
Anyone can ask God to bless someone
So why, may I ask, is it not more often done

We do not even go as far as to ask it of God
Does not anyone else think this to be odd
Courtesy is contagious, as your faith in God should be
On this point, everyone should whole-heartedly agree

How about instead of "hello", we greet with "God bless you"
After all, what spiritual harm could it possibly do
Instead of "goodbye", say "God bless you" once again
If someone returns it, rejoice with a loud, "amen"

May "God bless you" replace "thank you" as well
How God will touch their life, only time can tell
During triumphs and tragedies, we all need God's touch
Each and everyone one of you realize just how much

The key however, is to mean exactly what you say
Say a quick prayer for that person, then continue your day
Otherwise your words will have no meaning at all
You might as well be talking to a soulless blank wall

May the words, "God bless you" become your daily bread
That you eagerly pass out, and pray it will spread
God will then be on our daily lips and in our prayers
Let the world know Him and that He daily cares.
