Agape
by Joy Wieters

She's wrapped up in a soft yellow sweater.
A touch of class line's his black leather.
Soon the day will be done.
They each will join the Friday fun.
Her mother with jasmine scents her smooth black hair.
He dresses with knowledge that teal they share.
Takes her to a ritzy restaurant.
Tells her to order whatever she wants.
He holds her close as they dance shortly later.
With grace all about her she spins as he holds her.
On the way home this feeling won't stop.
Their insides are spinning as if they're a top.
Her blue eyes are shinning, his brown one's on her.
Both look to Jesus and Jesus says, "Sure."
Many years later he's still her hero.
He smiles at her as she secures their girl's bow.
They still love each other when others separate,
Cuz this wasn't romance - this was Agape.
