The Change

Pain and emptiness overtook my body
Nothing could fill the gaping hole in my chest
I was sent reeling after the smallest of hard times
And barely noticed the things that were for the best

Then I changed for the better
Found Christ in a book well known, but rarely read
People looked at me funny
They thought it was all in my head

But I know the truth
The pain was gone, the hole was filled
I had peace that passeth all understanding
And rejoiced when the smallest goals were fulfilled

A change overtook me
No more was I a servant to my sin
I am a Child of God
I am born again
