God's Redepmtion
by Russell © 2008

Jesus taught against all the man made philosophies of the human race!
The thoughts of a simple man whose origins they could not erase.
Whose power did cleanse the leper of Galilee and set captives free.
Wherever He went, the lame began to walk and the blind were able to see.

The Pharisees and the Sadducees trembled in fear as He drew near.
What was it about this man that made the crowds begin to appear.
He proclaimed to be the bread of life and you must eat of him to live,
the footsteps of a righteous man whose heart was willing to cleanse and forgive.

He spoke in parables so they could not see what He was to become.
The sacrifice of a lamb without spot or blemish, to overcome
sin's dominion over death and the grave as He spoke with his tongue,
Jesus said, "Father", forgive them for they know not what they do," as He hung.

The prophets of old foretold of his birth as a man and of his death
strung between heaven and earth left to die as He took his last breath.
Satan thought he had won until, Jesus Christ, rose from the grave,
the stone taken away so you do not have to obey or be sin's slave.
