COMPLETE JOY
by Antoinette Keyser © 2008

Aimless, fearful - drifting in a well of deep despair -
Wasted and utterly hopeless - depressed beyond compare -
That was me before You found me,
Rescued me and wrapped Your Love around me;
You healed my brokenness, and took away the scars -
You neutralized all loneliness and removed the prison bars
Behind which I was captured in misery and strife...
Bars which coldly marked the wasteland of my life...

But tell me, Lord, if You replaced ashes with beauty
And gave me a garment of praise for a spirit so heavy -
If You turned sorrow into gladness and mourning into dance -
Why then is it that my joy is not yet complete?
Is it perhaps that I've kept You to myself each day?
Then forgive me, Lord, and help me "be Jesus" to someone today!
