My Very Best Friend

Hello Jesus, how is heaven?
I bet it's wonderful there.
I know it's early, but I had to call
and tell you how much I care.
I hope you're not busy, but if you are,
could you spare just a minute or two?
I'm here alone and the house is quiet
and I wanted to talk with you.

I love you Jesus ~ and this is why:
it's because you first loved me.
You reached down and shared your love
and said this gift's for thee.
You were so gentle and kind that day,
I simply could not refuse.
Thank you Jesus for calling me
and telling me your Good News.

I long for the day that I can come there
and live in your will with you.
But until that day comes I'll keep asking
that your will be done here, too.
I love you Jesus and thanks for listening,
You are my very best friend.
I must go now so others can call,
but you know that I'll be calling again.
