Your Sanctuary by Kathleen Higham Not till I entered Your Sanctuary Did this weary soul concede Not in Your Book, Your Scripture Or even the Apostle's Creed. Not till I entered Your Sanctuary Where peace is beyond my mind Could I imagine the consequence That You my Lord, I would find. Not till I entered Your Sanctuary When I had no reason to live Reaching out in utter despair Crying to God, please forgive. Not till I entered Your Sanctuary Would Your Word in me revive An unsaved heart so broken But craving the will to survive. Not till I entered Your Sanctuary And surrendered to You my all Came a consciousness of the sacrifice Then weeping to my knees, I fall. Not till I entered Your Sanctuary Miraculously my fears subside A flood of tears so cleansing Understanding the reason You died. Not till I entered Your Sanctuary Possessed but unloosened, free As the oppressiveness of my life Succumbs to the God of my destiny. Not till I entered Your Sanctuary A vision, simplistic, unfurled Releasing me from a certain death When at last I denounced this world. |
