Reminiscing
by Eric Dobransky

So many countless stars
So many sleepless nights
So many times I wished that I could of traded in this life

So many wrong turns
So many dreams left on the shelf
So many times I could of changed, if I weren’t so interested in self

So many wasted chances
So many wounds that never healed
So many times I felt abandoned, but my hurt remained concealed

So many visions of the future
So many memories of the past
So many footsteps moving forward, but just as many turning back

Forgetting what’s behind you and pressing on to what’s ahead
Seems to be the only thought these days that drags me from my bed

To toil each day is meaningless, if your work is for yourself
What good are costly riches? What good is earthy wealth?

These words seem out of hope, but that’s truly not the case
They’re just reflections on the paths I chose in my journey through this race.

One day I will be soaring, with Glory in my view.
One day I will meet Jesus when my time on earth is through.

I’ll run and not grow weary for I can rest upon His grace.
And know each step I take in faith might be the one that wins the race.
