A Valued Friend

A friend is one to talk with, one who cares.
When things get tough he's always there.
Through struggles and hardships he offers advice;
A friend to be cherished throughout ones life.
Whatever is needed he gives it much
With a smile, a hug or a tender touch.
Through the storms of life he'll be at your side
To walk with you where he'll forever abide.
When you're broken and low and need a friend
He'll walk with you to the journey's end.
He'll dry your tears and draw you close
When comfort is what you've needed most.
Secrets we'll share in an inner room
As He comes to me my life is consumed
With a look of love, a smile of consummation
He soothes my heart with soft conversation.
My lover, my friend, my confidant
Meets all my needs and all my wants.
He sticks with me closer than any brother
And is one to be treasured above any other.
My strength, my rock as I hold fast to his hand
My faithful one, my valued friend!
