If indeed one were to live forever here on earth
Would we constantly curse our human birth
Numerous daily experiences that we go through
Weaken our will to continue to do

Hardships, peril, hurt and pain
Detract from the earthly pleasure of gain
Always fighting, fending off and for others caring
Looking out for how the less fortunate are faring

Carrying the burden of sickness and old age
The feeling of just existing in a self-imposed cage
Being abandoned, forgotten and abused
Having the knowledge that by some you are just used

Ignored, not listened to and laughed at
All knowledge and experience viewed like a discarded old hat
Love not wanted and shied from
How much longer do you want to go on

The combined total of these hurtful things
Jesus into your life brings
The will to live on and others to show
God's wonderful love that you now so intimately know
