The Last Supper
by Albert Watson

'Friends, share this special meal with me
as I await my destiny.
Do eat this bread and drink from cup
suffering shortly I will sup.
As Teacher and Lord, the highest seat,
learn a lesson, I wash feet.
My spirits sad I've been betrayed,
thirty bits of silver paid.
Judas, I dip this bread and hand to you,
go and do what you must do.
Peter, though bold now, you will deny,
listen for a cockerels cry.
A command I give, I'll soon be gone,
dearest friends, love everyone.'
